São Paulo 2012

Minhocão aberto para pedestres.

When we take the streets we become freer, when the Minhocão opened itself on Sundays — I felt the city breathe differently, like a body stretching after years of being held tight. The asphalt, once only a passage for machines, became ground for people, for children, for slow steps and curious eyes. Walking there was more than crossing the city: it was crossing into a new time, where concrete became a meeting place than being a boundary. That morning, I learned that occupying public space was also about occupying my own voice, and since then I carry that moment as a seed planted in the heart of the city.

Ata-me

"ata-me a pedras
e afunda-me no rio
quanto mais o amor medra
mais se afoga o desvario..." (Deolinda)

and sink me in the river
the more love thrives
more drowns the madness..."
